The links gadget at the right apparently remains from post to post and day to day. This would be a great place to put links to other schools or ataonline for easy navigation.
The blog archive list would contain "links" as it were to previous newsletters. The picture at the top could be of the leadership team or a picture of the school or something you want displayed all the time.

Apparently as large as you want if you can hand-code the html for it.
This is test blog 1. I am playing with templates I have downloaded from the web (see links). The template can be edited by adding or removing gadgets like the picture on the right. Pictures can be added directly to the blog itself as well.
